We try to let everyone be as creative as possible but we do have a few rules that renters must agree to:
Respect the space! it's OK to get messy and please don't feel like you have to walk on eggshells, but, if you make a mess we ask that you clean it up.
No children unless they are your talent/being photographed. Anyone under 18 at the space must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Keep the noise down please! We have neighbors and while playing music at a moderate volume is totally OK, we don't want to cause any problems with excessive music from a Bluetooth speaker or excessive loudness from your clients.
If you break something or make a mess, please let us know. We understand things happen! We would rather know about it and agree on the next steps versus having broken equipment that impacts another renter’s needs.
If you're unsure how to operate a piece of equipment, for your safety and everyone's sake, please refrain from using that equipment until you have received the proper training.
When you book time with our space, that time also is your set up and teardown time. We make your door code active five minutes before and after your booked time as a courtesy, but there may be other renters directly before or after you. If you feel like you need more time to set up or tear down, please book that time upfront.
Please be prompt at your exit time. There may be other renters directly behind you and taking longer than your booked time is disrespectful of the time they booked. We may assess a $49 late fee if your session goes over your booked time and impacts another renter.
Children and pets are allowed if they are directly related to your shoot (talent/your subjects/clients) but we ask that any children or pets who are not being photographed please refrain from entering the premises. Without exception, all minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a responsible adult/parent/legal guardian.
As with anyone, messes made by children or pets need to be cleaned up. Large messes or damages caused by children or pets need to be reported immediately, and in the event of excessive damage, you may be assessed a damage fee ($49). In extreme cases, this fee may be higher to reflect substantial amounts of damage.
It’s OK to not know how to use some of our gear! We employ a myriad of equipment from both the photography and videography world. We encourage you to check out our resources page (HERE) for the details on how to operate our equipment.
In general, if you don't feel safe or comfortable operating something, please don't. Safety is a priority at our studio. All loaded/extended stands must be used with appropriate sandbags. There are step stools and a ladder located in the studio for help with reach. Equipment is periodically tested for defects. Please report any defective equipment immediately and do not use it until it has been repaired.
No. Because our business model is “renting time” in the space, once a time is rented to you, it becomes unavailable to others who may have wanted to book. Because of this, we can't offer any type of rescheduling or refunds for any reason. This is our official policy and is noted in our rental agreement.
In some circumstances we are able to accommodate a reschedule, however. These reschedules are at the sole discretion of Frame and Flash Studios and cannot be guaranteed.
In short, yes! When taking photos we understand the "vibe" is sometimes just as important as the rest of the shoot! We have a computer set up with the Internet so you can play music through our studio speaker.
However, we do have neighbors on either side of our space. We ask that all music be kept at low to moderate levels as to respect their business. If you are planning to shoot a music video and need playback, you can either use our computer to access your files, or you may also bring in a small Bluetooth speaker. Please use appropriate sound baffling/dampening on any instruments played for a music video (especially drums!). Please pad drums and double stack all cymbals, no exceptions, do not ever turn on amplifiers or PA systems, and keep Bluetooth playback to a low to moderate volume level.
We have had several boudoir sessions in our space and welcome artistic expression of any kind. We have window coverings for the windows and door. We do have a security camera, however, and we are unable to turn it off for security reasons. Please be mindful of this camera and understand it will only be viewed in the case of damage/events that need to be reviewed for security purposes. We have a large changing room available for costume changes.
We do kindly ask and enforce that no pornographic shoots occur at Frame and Flash Studios.
As outlined in our renters agreement, you are responsible for injuries or damages occurring at the studio space. It is strongly recommended to carry your own insurance for this reason. We maintain our equipment to ensure everyone is safe in our space - but cannot be held liable for improper use of equipment/dangerous stunts. If you aren't sure how to safely operate a piece of equipment, please ask.
We understand that damages can happen. Whether it is damaged to a wall, set piece, backdrop, prop, or anything else in the space, we ask that you simply document the damage and let us know as soon as possible. In most cases, you will be asked to pay a $49 excessive damage fee. If the damage is beyond $49, we will work with you and our insurance companies to determine the best course of action.
If you discover damage/excessive mess upon entering the space, STOP and document it immediately. Please call/text 270-929-3051 or 270-231-6071.
We are proud of our 24’ cyclorama wall. It is made with high quality materials, including specially ordered paint. Therefore, we have basic requirements all renters MUST adhere to, including:
No shoes on the white surfaces. Booties are provided or you may wear socks. If talent needs shoes on for a shoot, that is allowed.
Absolutely no walking on the radius of the wall.
No adhesive/fastening things to the wall for any reason.
If there is excessive damage to the white surfacing in the studio, you will be asked to pay a $49 damages fee. If the damage is substantial, we will work with you and our insurance on next steps.
